Cercle Social ID

Project: School ID Design

Client: Cercle Social

Cercle Social's mission is to contribute to the improvement and the development of secondary education in Benin, especially the one targeting the most disadvantaged ones, through the design and implementation of socio-educational projects. Cercle Social's founder, David Kebo, reached out to me and asked me to design the school ID of the students they have sponsored.

Their goal is to provide infrastructures and low-cost technology to schools. Cercle Social was founded in 2010 by Benin Citizens in the USA to impact Benin education through several projects. Design Problem & Solution

Design Problem & Solution

The organization wanted a new school Identification card for its students and members that adheres to the existing branding of the NGO.

To address this, I took an element of the logo, which is the pages of the simplified book, and enlarged it. I aligned the spine of the book with the portrait of the student so as to emphasize the association to education. The curves of the enlarged pages of the book also serves as a border that guides your eyes from the image to the details, creating a visual flow from one element to another. Finally, I took a "page" from the simplified book and enlarged it further, causing a ghosting effect that adds to the overall visual flair of the design.
